Very good and clear, helpful for eating out.
Cay Tre - Vietnamese cuisine, 301 Old Street, London, EC1V 9LA Tel: 020 7729 8662. This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in London I've ever been. After reading so much pulicity and seeing it nominated in the ITV - the Tio Pepe London Restaurant Award, I have decided to go there myself. It was so excited at first when I saw Mark Hix, chef of the Ivy was dining there, just next to my table. I copied his order. The taste of the food was so exotic, so oriental and so, of course, so Vietnamese. I was actually just back from Vietnam after 1 year volunteeringly working for a charity, and the taste of the Vietnamese food, which I hardly find in London, was still on my tongue. This restaurant brought it back. I could feel the "pho" fragance pervading the whole dining room, the flavour of shrim sauce and fennel thickening in the air. Really love to go there. Top Vietnamse restaurant in London. Best Vietnamese cuisine and more importantly, best Pho in London. A excellent sample of Hanoi and Saigon food In London.

Thought you might like to check out a new restaurant i went to last night. I just went to find it on the web and it's not listed anywhere yet. It's call Epicurean. 10 Clerkenwell Green London EC1R 0DP, 020 7490 5577. Really yummy bizarre gourmet pizzas. Fabulous cocktails. Averaged at £25 each - good value considering it's all freshly made etc. Check it out!

I organise live music (electronica, worldbeat, jazz...) in an intimate 150 capacity cinema cafe in the heart of Brixton. The cinema is called The Ritzy and we, amazingly enough, are The Ritzy Café. We have a great menu of delicious stone-baked-based pizzas, crepes, toasties and a good selection at the bar. It would be great if you could come by sometime to review the place.

I probably mentioned this on rec.travel.europe already, but you really should revisit Ed's Easy Diner - I haven't been to the Kensington branch, but the two West End branches are sadly now much, much less good than they used to be. Mean portions and nasty burgers. Have you been to a restaurant near Holborn called Mille Pini? I'm sure I remember enjoying an Italian of that name a couple of decades ago, but I didn't remember it being in that location. I wonder if there is/was another of the same name?
Congokid: I work in the Holborn area, but haven't seen the Mille Pini.
Jan 2005 - it's now La Porchetta and still doing pizzas - see review under Italian
